BC PNP Tech — British Columbia Tech Stream
British Columbia's tech-focused PNP stream for technology professionals with a job offer from a BC tech employer. Runs weekly draws with relatively low CRS / BC-PNP-score cutoffs. Express Entry-aligned (Enhanced) — nomination adds +600 CRS.
What is BC PNP Tech?
BC PNP Tech is British Columbia's tech-focused Provincial Nominee Program stream. Operates under the broader BC PNP Skills Immigration umbrella but with priority draws targeting specific technology occupations.

Eligibility
To qualify for BC PNP Tech, you typically need:
- A full-time, indeterminate job offer from a BC employer in an eligible NOC
- The job offer must meet BC PNP wage criteria (typically prevailing-wage or above)
- Education + work experience appropriate to the NOC
- Language proficiency (CLB 7+ typical for TEER 0/1 tech roles)
- Be in the federal Express Entry pool (for Enhanced sub-stream) or apply via Base stream
Draw frequency
BC PNP Tech runs weekly draws — among the most frequent of any PNP. This gives candidates with the right tech employer offer a very predictable cadence.
CRS / BC PNP score cutoffs
BC PNP uses its own scoring system (different from federal CRS). Recent draws have had relatively low BC PNP score cutoffs for tech NOCs — sometimes 90-100 on BC PNP's scale.
For Enhanced sub-stream (Express Entry-aligned), federal CRS doesn't need to clear federal cutoffs — the +600 CRS from BC PNP nomination effectively guarantees a federal ITA.
Application fee
BC PNP Skills Immigration application fee: CAD 1,750 (effective 22 January 2026, up from CAD 1,475).
Why BC PNP Tech
- Weekly draw cadence — predictable
- Lower competition for tech NOCs vs federal Express Entry general draws
- +600 CRS via Enhanced sub-stream nomination
- Settle in BC — Vancouver, Victoria, Burnaby, Richmond, Surrey, North Shore, Lower Mainland generally
- Strong tech ecosystem — Microsoft Vancouver, Amazon, Hootsuite, Lululemon Digital, EA Vancouver, etc.
Halani's note
For tech professionals (Pakistani, Indian, Filipino, Gulf-based) targeting a BC employer, BC PNP Tech is one of the most reliable PNP pathways. Combined with a strong federal Express Entry profile, the path from BC tech offer to PR is typically 12-18 months.
