1. Our commitment
Halani Immigration Services Inc. is committed to making our website and digital services accessible to people with disabilities. We aim to provide an experience that complies with the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.1 at Level AA, and we follow the principles of the Accessibility for Ontarians with Disabilities Act (AODA) where applicable.
Accessibility is a continuous process, not a one-time project. We review our website regularly and update it as we identify barriers or as our content evolves.
2. What we do
We design our website with a target of WCAG 2.1 Level AA conformance. Specific practices we follow:
- Semantic HTML and ARIA landmarks so assistive technologies can navigate the page structure
- A skip-to-content link for keyboard users (focusable on Tab from the page top)
- Visible focus indicators on every interactive element using a high-contrast brand-red outline
- Sufficient colour contrast on body text and interactive elements (target ratio 4.5:1)
- Forms with explicit labels and clear error messages
- Alt text on meaningful images; empty alt on purely decorative images
- Resizable text without layout breakage at 200% zoom
- Content that does not require JavaScript for primary navigation or core service information
3. Known limitations
We are honest about where we still have work to do. Current known limitations:
- Some legacy template components (e.g., the home-page Swiper carousel) may have minor focus-management gaps that we are addressing iteratively
- Third-party content (live chat, Google reviews) is loaded only with explicit cookie consent and may not meet our internal accessibility standards — we evaluate vendors on an ongoing basis
- We do not yet provide formally certified WCAG 2.1 AA conformance — we target the standard and self-test, but have not engaged a third-party auditor
4. How to report a barrier
If you encounter an accessibility barrier on our website, or you'd like our information in an alternative format (e.g., large print, plain language summary), please contact us. We will respond as quickly as we can, and at minimum within 7 business days.

5. Continuous improvement
Accessibility is part of every change we make. New features and content are reviewed against our internal accessibility checklist before launch, and we will update this statement as our practices evolve.
