What is the NLPNP?

The Newfoundland and Labrador Provincial Nominee Program (NLPNP) is the eastern-most provincial nomination program. Operates alongside the Atlantic Immigration Program (AIP).

NLPNP streams

  • Express Entry Skilled Worker — for candidates already in the federal Express Entry pool with a NL connection
  • Skilled Worker — for foreign workers with NL employer offers
  • International Graduate — for graduates of Memorial University, College of the North Atlantic, etc.
  • International Graduate Entrepreneur — for graduates pursuing self-employment in NL
  • Priority Skills NL — for PhDs, post-doctoral researchers, and master's graduates in specific fields (oceans research, energy, mining, ICT)

Application fee

CAD 250 per application — among the lowest in Canada.

When to consider NLPNP

Strong for researchers, healthcare workers, and skilled tradespeople willing to settle in Atlantic Canada. Memorial University graduates have an institutional pipeline. Lower-cost province with growing healthcare and oceans-research sectors.
