Last reviewed: Reviewer: Shoukat Halani, RCIC-IRB (R711322)

What is MPNP?

The Manitoba Provincial Nominee Program (MPNP) is the provincial nomination route to Canadian permanent residence for candidates with a Manitoba connection. MPNP runs both Express Entry-aligned (Enhanced) and non-Express Entry (Base) streams.

MPNP streams

  • Skilled Worker Overseas — for candidates with a Manitoba employer connection or family / community connection
  • Skilled Worker in Manitoba — for foreign workers and graduates already in Manitoba
  • International Education Stream — for Manitoba post-secondary graduates with employer connection
  • Business Investor Stream — Entrepreneur or Farm Investor pathway

Application fee

CAD 500 per application.

When to consider MPNP

Strong fit for applicants with a Manitoba employer offer, Manitoba family member willing to invite, or Manitoba graduation. The Skilled Worker Overseas stream allows community-supported applications even without a direct employer offer in some cases.

Halani's note

Manitoba has well-established South Asian, Filipino, and Sub-Saharan African communities — particularly in Winnipeg, Brandon, and Steinbach. We work MPNP files virtually from Toronto.
