NSNP — Nova Scotia Nominee Program
Nova Scotia's provincial nomination route to Canadian PR. Streams include Labour Market Priorities, Skilled Worker, Physician, International Graduate, and Entrepreneur.
What is NSNP?
The Nova Scotia Nominee Program (NSNP) is Nova Scotia's provincial nomination program. Operates alongside the Atlantic Immigration Program (AIP).
NSNP streams
- Labour Market Priorities — targets priority occupations (often early childhood educators, healthcare workers)
- Skilled Worker — for candidates with a Nova Scotia employer offer
- Physician — for licensed physicians with offers from Nova Scotia Health Authority or IWK Health Centre
- International Graduate — for graduates of Nova Scotia DLIs
- Entrepreneur — for business-class applicants
Application fee
CAD 0-300 depending on stream — several NSNP streams are fee-free.
When to consider NSNP
Strong for healthcare professionals (physicians, RNs), early childhood educators, and Nova Scotia graduates. Maritime provinces have lower competition than Ontario/BC PNPs.
NSNP vs. Atlantic Immigration Program (AIP)
Both lead to Nova Scotia PR but operate differently. AIP requires a designated-employer job offer; NSNP can run without one in some streams. Many applicants pursue both pathways in parallel.
